As we are still building this show and our audience, we have been doing some experiments with different types of episodes. This episode is one of those experiments.
Each week when we are putting together the show, we come across dozens of news stories that sit at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Human Psychology, many of these stories even come across our radar as many of you are sending them to us! Which is great. However, it’s sometimes hard to cover all of this material in our standard episode format.
So… here’s a short bonus episode featuring recent news relevant to our series and the topics we cover.
We hope you find this informative, and it also gives us some time to keep putting together our next standard format episode. We hope to be able to kick these out whenever we don’t have an episode ready (unless you all tell us you hate it), but realistically some weeks during our seasons, there simply won’t be an episode dropping. Not often, but sometimes.
To that end: what are we doing here? This was supposed to be an 8 episode limited series, right? Why are we talking about more episodes, bonus episodes, more seasons, and having something to release weekly?
Because it turns out we had way more to cover than we could do in 8 episodes.
However, I can now announce that Season One will be coming to an end, most likely on 12/23. In the meantime, we have two more excellent episodes coming your way.
The feedback we are getting is incredible, we have an opportunity to help a lot of people, and to continue to try to understand something that is unfolding in real time and evolving daily. So… once we finish this season we will begin putting together what comes next. I’m not quite sure exactly what that looks like, but the end of the season will not mean the end of the series. Not by a long shot.
In addition — coming up, you will start hearing promos for Suspicious Minds on incredible podcasts such as Hidden Brain, CBC’s The Devil You Know, and Crafted. So be sure to look out for those! We will also be promoting those shows on our podcast, so don’t be surprised if you hear a voice you don’t recognize at the beginning of an upcoming episode.
Lastly, we are thrilled to announce we were featured on Lifehacker.com’s 20 Most Essential Podcasts of 2025 list, curated by Lauren Passell! We are totally obsessed with Longview’s The Last Invention, and honored to be in such great company.
As always, remember to subscribe and follow if you haven’t, and like and rate, as well. And to make sure you don’t miss any updates, subscribe to us here.
We hope you enjoy the First Edition of Suspicious News!
